Hire Us

Step into a professional partnership grounded in care, clarity, and craft. Commissions at Once Upon a Voice are available to those who want to hire Marcellé or her adult students, through the studio, to complete specific creative work without enrolling in the studio’s educational services. These offerings reflect the same trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming values that guide all work within Once Upon a Voice—clear boundaries, thoughtful collaboration, and respect for creative process—while remaining fully client-centered. Once Upon a Voice is a music production company specializing in voice-led studio work and musical authorship. Commissioned projects are completed within the same ecosystem that supports Marcellé’s work as a self-producing artist and the studio’s support of Voicelore. All recording for these projects is captured through Voicesmith, the studio’s recording environment, which utilizes a sophisticated online pipeline to facilitate professional tracking. The recording process is high-level, utilizing professional workflows and technical standards to ensure premium results. This environment is designed to be inclusive of all collaborators, including those who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing and those who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), ensuring every voice has a place in the creative workflow. Work is completed by Marcellé independently or in collaboration with Once Upon a Voice’s adult students—musicians who already operate within the studio’s trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming standards. This structure allows professional work to serve as real-world creative training while remaining accountable and discreet. When a project requires outside expertise, collaborators are engaged thoughtfully, credited appropriately, and compensated fairly. If a client’s needs fall entirely outside the studio’s capabilities or availability, Marcellé may refer trusted colleagues for independent work. Commissions focus on creative work and pre-production, including singing, songwriting, piano, and demo creation. Singing commissions cover the recording of lead and background vocals for a variety of uses, including releases and live performances. Songwriting services provide toplining and lyric writing tailored to the client’s direction. Piano services are available for studio sessions and high-quality accompaniment tracks. Music production focuses on the creative assembly of demos, including full-track instrumentation and vocal arranging. While Once Upon a Voice handles the recording phases, we intentionally stop at the demo phase to prioritize quality control; this includes receiving feedback from industry colleagues and leaving final mixing and mastering to specialized engineers who ensure two fresh sets of ears provide the final polish and perspective on every project. Please note that while Once Upon a Voice operates specialized wings for its students—such as Voicebound for music publishing, Commonvoice for its record label, and Voicefair for live performance strategy—these pathways are navigated specifically for artist development through our teaching services. Requests for Marcellé as a featured artist or bookings for her to perform are handled separately through musicbymarcelle.com. All commissions are project-based and priced individually after a proposal is submitted. Creative parameters, timeline, usage, collaborators, and deliverables are clarified before work begins. All commissioned work remains private and confidential. Nothing is publicly shared, referenced, or used as an example without explicit permission from the client. That boundary is fully respected. Adult students of Once Upon a Voice who are seeking guided, educational support for their own studio projects should visit the Projects section of our Learn page instead. Projects are instructional add-ons that include coaching, feedback, and process transparency. Commissions are different: they are for professionals and organizations who are not Once Upon a Voice students. Both pathways are available to adults only. If you are looking to hire Marcellé or engage the Once Upon a Voice studio team for a professional commission, this page is your starting point. If you are looking to learn, grow, and create with guidance, the Learn page is designed for you. Both paths are intentional. Both are respected.
