Masterclass and Asynchronous Coaching
Where Practice Meets Guidance ✨
Service Description
Our trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming masterclasses are the only live service designed exclusively for adult singers and songwriters. Masterclass meets twice each month in 45-minute sessions, creating a consistent rhythm of shared learning, creativity, and human connection—the kind of growth that self-paced study alone cannot replace. All Masterclass students also receive full access to the studio’s self-paced courses, which are designed to support and extend live learning between sessions. The first masterclass each month focuses on singing, and the second focuses on songwriting, with piano and music production woven throughout both as supportive tools that deepen understanding and artistic choice. Courses and live instruction are intentionally aligned, allowing adults to explore voice, songwriting, piano, and production through multiple learning pathways. Each session opens with a structured teaching segment grounded in real-world artistry. Singing-focused masterclasses explore vocal technique such as breath coordination, resonance, phrasing, tone, and stylistic nuance. Songwriting-focused masterclasses center on lyric craft, melodic development, form, and musical storytelling. Piano is used to demonstrate harmony and phrasing, while music production tools—such as Ableton Live—illustrate arrangement, layering, texture, and expressive effects. Instruction then flows into guided, multi-level activities designed to meet adults where they are. Whether early-stage, returning to music, or deeply experienced, participants apply concepts through accessible, structured exploration. Activities may include shaping melody from text, refining phrasing through vocal experimentation, or examining how production choices transform a song’s emotional impact. The emphasis remains on discovery, agency, and authentic expression rather than perfection. Every masterclass is recorded and shared privately so participants can revisit material or catch up if they are unable to attend live. Adults may choose to enroll in Masterclass Only, Masterclass and Asynchronous Coaching, or Masterclass and Live One-on-One Coaching, depending on the level of individualized support they want alongside the shared learning experience. Between sessions, participants are invited into The Lyric Isles, our private online community, where connection, encouragement, and creative exchange continue beyond the virtual classroom.

Booking Policy
At Once Upon a Voice, we are committed to providing a supportive and accessible learning environment for every participant. Our policies are shaped through a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming approach that balances flexibility with fairness. Masterclasses are open only to registered adults. To protect the integrity of the group, each participant must be individually enrolled. Friends, family members, or guests may not attend unless they are registered themselves. We understand that adult learners often balance work, family, and personal commitments. While we encourage live attendance for connection and interaction, we recognize that missing a session is sometimes unavoidable. Every masterclass is recorded and made available to participants, ensuring that learning can continue even if you cannot join in real time. Classes begin and end at the scheduled time. If you arrive late, you are welcome to join in progress, but the session will still conclude as planned to respect everyone’s time. Should technical issues arise, our team and Muzie, the platform we use, are available to help minimize disruption. Refunds are only granted in the case of prolonged withdrawal due to physical or mental health concerns, with prorating beginning from the date documentation is received. Temporary absences do not qualify for refunds, but session recordings and group resources remain available to support ongoing engagement. By honoring these guidelines, we can provide a fair and reliable masterclass experience for all participants. We welcome you to reach out at any time if you need support navigating your musical journey.
