About
What makes a sound shimmer, echo, or stir something deep inside us? This course explores how resonance shapes not only tone, but also emotion and meaning—across voice, songwriting, piano, and music production. In the Voice section, students learn to adjust their vocal tract to brighten, darken, or soften their tone. Whether singing solo, blending with others, or layering in the studio, they learn to use resonance intentionally to support expression and connection. In the Songwriting section, resonance becomes a feeling—what sticks in the heart after the song ends. Students explore how internal thoughts and imagery create emotional resonance in lyrics and melody. They learn to write songs that echo with truth, texture, and memory. In the Piano section, students explore how an instrument’s design affects resonance, and how to shape arrangements that support the voice. Through pedal use and chord voicing, they learn to build piano parts that breathe and bloom. In the Producing section, students dive into the tools that shape sound in space. They explore synthesizer envelopes (attack, decay, sustain, release), blend vocal textures, use EQ to carve tone, and apply reverb and delay to shape space and time. Whether capturing acoustic resonance or creating it digitally, they learn how to build mixes that feel emotionally alive. Every section offers creative ways to engage with sound, structure, and storytelling. This course supports a wide range of learning styles and encourages each student to explore resonance as both a physical and emotional force. Trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, this course invites students to make music that rings true—within themselves and beyond.
